From the visit note to a superbill in three steps

Othisis prices each cash-pay visit from your fee schedule, using the codes on the visit. You review every code, and Othisis never submits an insurance claim.

Step 1

Approve the codes

Approve the codes on the visit's note. AI scribe visits for patients with no insurance on file, and every visit billed from a note written on the profile, appear in Cash & self-pay with their CPT and HCPCS codes, ICD-10 diagnoses, place of service and time in and out.

Step 2

Price it from your fee schedule

Each code is priced from your fee schedule at the rate category you choose for the visit, such as Self-pay or a discounted rate you set.

Step 3

Send an invoice or superbill

Download, print or email the patient an invoice while money is owed, or a full superbill they can submit to their insurance carrier.

A fee schedule with your own cash rates

Add the codes you bill, with a description and how each is billed: per visit, per unit, or by minutes. Self-pay is your base price, and every rate category you add becomes a column next to it.

  • Price a rate category as a percent or dollar amount off Self-pay, or type a price in by hand.
  • Codes on a visit that aren’t on your fee schedule, or have no price, are flagged before you bill.

Visit charges you can check before you bill

Open a visit to see its codes, modifiers, diagnosis pointers and units with their prices. Pick the rate category, and Othisis shows what each one would cost and totals the amount to collect.

  • Billing staff can add a code from your fee schedule and link it to an ICD-10 diagnosis.
  • Codes added in billing stay on the bill and don’t change the clinician’s note.
  • Each patient's Billing tab shows what was billed, discounted and still due over the last 12 months.

Frequently Asked Questions

A superbill is an itemized bill for a visit that lists the provider's NPI and Tax ID, the date and place of service, ICD-10 diagnoses, and the CPT or HCPCS codes with their charges. Patients who pay cash can submit it to their insurer to ask for out-of-network reimbursement. Othisis creates one for every priced cash-pay visit.

No. Othisis doesn't submit insurance claims. The patient submits the superbill to their own insurance carrier.

From the visit. On AI scribe visits, the codes come from the visit's insurance letter, where each ICD-10, CPT or HCPCS code shows its confidence and links to its source. On manual notes, the clinician enters the codes. You review every code before the visit is billed, and billing staff can add codes from your fee schedule.

Yes. Self-pay is your base price. Add rate categories, such as a discounted or courtesy rate, priced as a percent or dollar amount off Self-pay or typed in by hand, then pick the rate category on each visit.

Yes. Open the visit's superbill and choose Email to patient, or download it as a PDF or print it. You can also download invoices or superbills for many visits as one PDF.
